Mayor Ross Siemens is inviting Abbotsford elementary children in grades K-5 to take part in a contest to design the annual Christmas card.

Every year Mayor and Council send out many electronic Christmas cards across the city and province. Adding children’s artwork to the card adds an extra element of cheer. Elementary students from across the city are encouraged to create and submit a festive Christmas drawing that could be selected for the cover of the Mayor’s official 2024 Christmas card.

Fraser Health has provided a comprehensive list of dental resources for the 2024/2025 school year. 

The following programs are available for families who may not have private dental insurance but may qualify for support:

Update on Avian Influenza (H5)

A presumptive case of avian influenza has been reported in the Fraser Health region. While this may be concerning, please rest assured that student and staff safety remains our top priority. There are no confirmed cases within our district schools. Fraser Health, BC’s Chief Veterinarian, and the Ministry of Health are monitoring the situation closely and confirm no known exposure in schools.

Preventative Tips:

Our PAC are doing a pizza hot lunch fundraiser on Friday, December 6th, 2024.  The forms went home with the students on November 13th, so please make sure to check backpacks to avoid disappointment.  If you're missing a form, please visit Mrs. Kenyon in the office.
