Mrs. Iftody's Grizzy Gab
It’s October already! We couldn’t have done it without all the support of our families. I am so appreciative of the patience parents have showed as we adjusted our classrooms and staffed our school with new teachers. I am excited to announce we have the following new teachers:
Mr. Byrne – Grade 4
Ms. Virk – Grade 4/5
Mrs. L. Reimer – Grade 1
Ms. Prom – Kindergarten
Ms. A. Reimer – Grade ¾ (additional time)
Mr. Gibson – PE (Monday & Thursday)
We are still in the process of hiring our Grade 1/2 teacher. Our support staff have been working along side the temporary teacher, Mrs. Kaur, to ensure these students have continuity during this transition.
Our staff honoured the children who attended residential schools this week by wearing orange. We believe “Every Child Matters”. Many children (and I saw a few parents too) wore orange T-shirts as well! Thank you. We are committed to embedding the First Peoples’ Principles of Learning into our school culture. One principle we have been practicing as a community is that “Learning involves patience and time.”
Part of my role as principal is to cultivate a school environment where students feel they belong and can flourish in school and beyond! To do that, I recognize that we need to listen and learn from our students. Shortly, parents will receive a short survey to complete with their child. The voice is to be the child’s(ren), but they may need some help with the articulation of their thoughts. Thank you!
Our PAC executive is dedicated to our school community. I have enjoyed getting to know these parent leaders. They are always thinking of ways to bring joy to the school community. They are currently holding a Thanksgiving Dinner raffle! Gobble, gobble, buy those tickets!
